Family Services Program
Real Support, Real Change
The Family Services Program launched in 2024 as an eight-month pilot designed to support hospitality employees and their families. The program connected participants to practical resources that support long-term stability and upward mobility, helping families move closer to the goals they set for themselves.
During the pilot year, 12 families took part in programming focused on English language learning, financial and digital literacy, building healthy savings habits, and preparing for homeownership. The impact of this work was significant and clear.
As a result, the program is expanding. Eight of the original families will continue their involvement as alumni, working toward their ongoing goals while also serving as mentors to incoming participants.
In 2026, the Family Services Program will serve 26 families and expand its offerings to include new classes focused on professionalism and family wellness, strengthening the program’s holistic approach to family support.
The three areas of focus are:
Education and Workforce Development
Financial Prosperity and Housing
Family Resources
Each family member set goals and co-creates a plan to achieve them. They will meet with experts individually and in small groups. Throughout the entire program, they will get support from La Fonda Foundation to ensure they are getting the guidance and resources they need to thrive as a family. Finally, this program will introduce the participating families to one another to create a community of support.
Each participating family is eligible for a grant based on the number of family members that are participating. This grant covers costs incurred (transportation, childcare, etc.) and compensation for their time.
