Our Priorities

At La Fonda Foundation, our work is guided by the voices and real-life experiences of hourly hospitality employees in Northern New Mexico.

To ensure our programs address the most pressing needs, we partner with the University of New Mexico’s Cradle to Career Policy Institute to collect and analyze data directly from the families we serve.

By surveying the employees of La Fonda on the Plaza as a sample population of the greater hospitality industry of Northern New Mexico, we identify the barriers that limit economic mobility—whether it's access to childcare, legal status, educational opportunities, transportation, or financial literacy. This data-driven approach allows us to direct resources where they will make the greatest impact and to design programs that respond to the lived realities of workers and their children.

By continually assessing outcomes and adjusting our efforts based on what the data shows, we stay focused on supporting long-term, generational change. Our priorities aren’t based on assumptions—they’re grounded in community feedback and backed by research.
